News
Clocks change in the UK and Europe on Easter Day. In both printed, online and broadcast schedules, Radio Six International always gives its time in GMT (Greenwich Mean Time) also known as UTC. To translate times in our schedule pages, please ADD ONE HOUR for listeners in UK & Europe. Most programmes will therefore appear an hour later than before, except on Sunday evening (UK time) when they will remain in the same time slots as before.
Easter marks the 60th anniversary of Radio Caroline. We have several programmes recalling it and other pirate ships over Easter weekend, including a special Kenny Tosh Revival Show, An Emperor's Tale and Pirate Memories. See the schedule for details of times.
Radio Six International gets an audio makeover on Good Friday. We'll be playing the new arrangement of Leaving Lismore for the very first time at 18:55 GMT (6.55pm UK) on Good Friday and from that point listen out for new station idents and a new sound for The Lively Lounge. From Tuesday April 2nd you can hear Gavin Sutherland's sparkling new arrangement of 'Leaving Lismore' performed by The Tony Currie Orchestra every morning just before the programme for New Zealand begins; and a fresh new arrangement of The Radio Six Theme every evening at 18:55 GMT (7.55pm UK) as arranged by Callum Au for The Tony Currie Orchestra. Both these and many other well known tracks will be found on a new LP "Race The Sun" due for release on 6th September.
